Step 3: Temporary Cell Containment System
People who are experiencing cyber-stalking often report having purchased new phones over and over and over again and the hackers always get back in. This is incredibly expensive and frustrating, but I have good news- I was able to figure out a way to get around this and restore your digital sovereignty!
The reason they keep getting back in is that if you keep re-installing the same apps, using the same logins (especially the cloud and G--gle services), and re-connecting to possibly compromised wifi at home which allows them right back in (I recommend using your cell network only until you've purchased your own modem + router + firewall for your home - Blog about this coming soon).
Your wifi or cell phone may not even be the compromise point, it could be one or many of your accounts and the horribly abused persistent authentication on them (this is why targeted individuals may want to prioritize logging into services in a browser then logging out when done, rather than downloading a million apps with different terms and having them constantly logged in). In order to sort this out, you will have to remove ALL the variables then secure your systems one by one. This is a process and doesn't need to be done in a day.
This step is for if you have already secured your accounts (especially your auto-backup Cloud, which I would disable immediately if you haven't already) and moved all of your passwords + reset them inside of BitWarden, then set up 2FA/MFA on everything that you can which was explained in the previous blog post. If you haven't done those things already, please start at Step 1 again and go through the steps. Your compromised COULD be as simple as just your passwords, so we want to make sure you take that possibility off the table before you go spending any more money or burning anything else to the ground. lol
If you've already reset all passwords & set up MFA, continue:
To fully begin to extricate yourselves from compromise, I would suggest buying a cheap side phone for secure calls / resetting passwords / communication with help resources (This will cost you under $200 total). This will be used ONLY for installing an encrypted password manager (BitWarden), resetting ALL of your passwords AGAIN with BitWarden, and then re-doing multi-factor authentication on all of your accounts (you CANNOT keep any old 2FA/MFA/Multi Factor Authentication settings, you'll disable and re-enable them / set them back up fresh with this new side phone). (Click here for more info about Multi Factor Authentication & why it's so important.)
Here's how this system works:
Buy a $160 TracFone Samsung A16 in a big box store (cheapest smart phone I have been able to find, it's fast and effective- must be bought in person for this price!) and buy a TracFone service card while you're there for cheap ($25/mo for 6 GBPS of data a month) and enter code HPXA-8621 for 1500 free points when you sign up for "My Rewards" (click here to do that). You can use these free points to redeem for money off your refill card. Auto-refill adds another added discount, too so you'll probably end up paying more like $15 per month with the points and auto-refill. After a couple months of saving up data on the $15/$25 plan (since the data adds up and rolls over), you can downgrade to 1gb per month for like $10. Now you have a SUPER cheap cell phone to be used to secure your digital life. :)
To activate your service you'll need to go to a coffee shop, library, or some place with free wifi, DO NOT USE YOUR HOME WIFI if you're being stalked because they're likely in there (especially if all you have is a modem + router from your Internet Service Provider - Just hit a coffee shop for a drink/snack and use the wifi there to activate your service and download these apps below).
Do NOT install your old apps!
Do NOT log into your old email apps (NO G--gle services!!)
Do NOT sign into OR sign up for the Samsung Cloud account on this phone
(you can close out of the thing asking you to sign in to the Cloud)
Leave it bare bones!
----------------------------------------------
To be able to download apps you'll need to sign into Google Play - Open Chrome which is already on the phone and sign up for a BRAND NEW G--gle/Gmail account, do NOT use one you already have (as it's likely compromised). Create a brand new one to use just for G--gle Play on this phone. Write the password for this G--gle account down -- DO NOT click "SAVE PASSWORD" as this is the number one way your passwords are likely being compromised on your other phone. (Click here for more information about why "Save Password" and Cloud on smart phones and browsers is NOT to be used) Later, you'll put your new Play account information into your BitWarden password manager and change the password again + set up Multi Factor Authentication.
The ONLY apps I recommend to add to this phone for this process:
(Click for info/app links for BitWarden)
(click here for How to use Bitwarden)
(Click for info/app links for Bit Warden Authenticator)
(Click here for how to use Authenticator for better account security,
aka: "2FA/MFA/Multi Factor Authentication")
Brave Browser
(make Brave the default Browser, too)
Use this side phone's unlimited texts/calls to have privacy while sorting out your hacked main cell phone and saving up for a privacy conscious phone. (Do NOT use this phone to scroll social media, watch youtube, etc - You will be burning data if you do that. This is an emergency recovery phone only!)
Turn your possibly hacked phone off - then use this phone to call the police and file reports once you have enough evidence, call shelters if you just need to get OUT, set up new financial accounts if you need to start planning an escape, to call abuse recovery resources for help, etc. It is safest to place calls like these while away from the home in case the abuser(s) are in your home wireless network and mis-using devices like Alexas and anything else that is "always listening" to help when you call for it. Don't panic about this, I'll post more about how to fix this later (this is why you should NOT connect this phone to your home wifi at ALL).
Don't give the number out to anyone! It's whole purpose is just to be a safe phone while you plan your escape. This helped me when my abusers were in my wireless network at home, and I hope it helps you find safety and peace of mind too.
